County Seeking Proposals to Reduce Causes of Poverty

The Nevada County Adult & Family Services Commission is looking to fund proposals that reduce the causes of poverty and promote family self-sufficiency. 

The commission has announced a Request for Proposals for federal Community Services Block Grant Funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. 

Projects that could be funded might support: 

* educational and cognitive development

* income and asset building

* nutrition

*housing

*health and social/behavioral development

The funding requests are for April 1, 2024-December 31, 2025. The maximum funds available will be $148,000. The application deadline is December 29 and the selection process is January 9.  For more information, see the Request for Proposals.
