NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 10:15 AM, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of the Truckee Fire Protection District’s Capital Improvement Plan and Mitigation Fee Annual Expenditure Plan.
The proposed Fire Impact Fee Program Update is based on Truckee Fire Protection District’s Capital Improvement Plan and Mitigation Fee Annual Expenditure Plan that were approved by the District’s Board of Directors on December 20, 2022, by Resolution No. 26-2022. The updated fee program includes an 5.75% inflationary adjustment in the mitigation fees. If approved, the new fees will become effective 60 days after the adoption of the resolution. A copy of the agenda packet and all documents on which the proposed fee increase is based will be available for public review at the Board of Supervisors office, second floor, Eric Rood Administrative Center, 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, CA and at the Truckee Library, 10031 Levon Avenue, Truckee, CA.
The public meeting will be held at the Eric Rood Administration Center Board of Supervisor Chambers, located at 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City. In adherence with Governor Newsom’s Executive Order pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines outlined by the Nevada County Public Health Department please see the February 28, 2023 agenda after posting for the most updated information regarding the meeting format, as well as the various options being made available for members of the public to provide public comment in both Eastern and Western County. If there continues to be a high rate of COVID-19 spread within our community, the Board of Supervisors may attend the meeting and participate remotely to the same extent as if they were present.
As the date grows closer to the public hearing, please contact the Clerk of the Board at (530) 265-1480 or clerkofboard@nevadacountyca.gov for additional information on the location of the meeting, as well as how to provide live comments during the public hearing.
If you challenge the proposed amendments in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Board of Supervisors at, or prior to, the public hearing.
If approved, the amended fee program will become effective 60 days after the adoption of the resolution.
