Oral Health refers to the health of the entire mouth, including tooth decay, gum disease, chronic oral pain, oral cancer, and other conditions that affect the mouth and throat.
The Nevada County Oral Health Program is guided by the Nevada County Dental Coalition, a collaborative of knowledgeable individuals who care about oral health in our community. The program’s mission is to educate the community about oral health, and to help the public access oral health resources. We achieve this mission through collaborating with community programs and partners, including local schools. The program proudly provides dental health kits to the community through schools and events.
Our coalition website, SmileNevadaCounty.com, assists the community in accessing important information, including finding care, educational resources, Medi-Cal, the Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment (KOHA), fluoride education, oral health in pregnancy, and much more.
Funding for the Nevada County Oral Health Program comes from Proposition 56 for the purpose of educating, preventing, and treating dental disease.
