Services for Children and Families

The Nevada County Health and Human Services Agency has many programs to assist you, your family, or the children you love with cash benefits, food, health care services, health and wellness, or housing. Benefits are available depending on eligibility requirements. Click below to get information on programs and services that may benefit a child in your life. 

CalWORKS

CalWORKS is a temporary financial assistance program for low or no income families with children. 

Children's Mental Health Services

Nevada County Behavioral Health treats children who have a serious mental illness, could be using drugs or alcohol, children involved with the Courts, Probation, or Child Child Welfare Services. 

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

WIC offers food assistance and education to help pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and young children eat well and stay healthy.

Child Support Payments

Child Support may be paid to a parent by the non-custodial parent each month to help pay for the support of the child.

California Children's Services

California Children's Services (CCS) provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment services for children with certain physically disabling medical conditions. Visit the CCS page for information on eligibility. 

Public Health Services and Truckee Teen Clinic

Nevada County child Welfare Services is dedicated to protecting children from abuse and neglect by working with families to ensure the safety of their children.
