Encroachment Permit Application Process - Construction and Driveways

  • Provide an engineered traffic control plan that shows the traffic control for the project.
  • Site Plan showing where proposed work will be done
  • Insurance Certificate for $1,000,000 in General Liability and General Aggregate for $2,000,000 and specifically naming the County of Nevada, Public Works as additional insured for this specific permit.
  • Pay Encroachment fee: $411.20 (includes permit fee of $146.34 and two inspections at $132.43)
  • Re-inspection: $132.43 (per each additional inspection above the two provided in the initial permit.)

Encroachment Permit Application Process - Utilities

  • Provide an engineered traffic control plan that shows the traffic control for the project. 
  • Site Plan showing where proposed work will be done
  • Insurance Certificate for $1,000,000 in General Liability and General Aggregate for $2,000,000 and specifically naming the County of Nevada, Public Works listed as additional insured for this specific permit.
  • Pay Encroachment fee: $278.77 (includes permit fee of $146.34 and one inspection at $132.43)
  • Re-inspection: $132.43 (per each additional inspection above the one provided in the initial permit.)

Encroachment Permit Application Process - Event

  • PLEASE NOTE:  Event Encroachment Permits CANNOT be submitted online through the Citizens Access Portal as the Portal requires an APN # and events are not related to APN"s. Please submit your permit application package via USPS Mail, FedEx, UPS, or drop it off at the Eric Rod Center-Community Development Agency front desk.
  • Only complete application packages with a check will be accepted.  
  • Traffic Control Plan. If County maintained roadways will be closed or intermittent traffic control, provide proof of CHP involvement. Contact CHP California Film Commission at (800)858-4749
  • Site Plan showing the start of the event, what County maintained roads will be used, and where the event will end
  • Insurance certificate for $2,000,000 per occurrence in General Liability and $4,000,000 in General Aggregate and specifically naming the County of Nevada, Public Works listed as additional insured for this specific permit.
  • Participant waiver forms waiving and releasing the County of Nevada from all claims of liability
  • Pay Encroachment fee: $146.34
Encroachment Permit Application Process - Film
  • Traffic Control Plan. Contact CHP California Film Commission at (800)  858-4749
  • Site Plan showing where proposed work will take place and what County maintained roadways will be used
  • Insurance Certificate for $2,000,000 in General Liability Per Occurrence and $4,000,000 General Aggregate, specifically naming the County of Nevada, Public Works listed as additional insured for this specific permit
  • Complete a Photography/Motion Picture Permit application with the Department of Information and General Services (IGS).
  • Drone film permit (Unmanned aircraft) over State Property, Certificate Waiver of Authorization, USAIG (Unmanned Aircraft System Certificate of Insurance), and a UAS license.
  • Pay Encroachment fee: $146.34
