Historic Carnegie Library

Opened in 1916, the Grass Valley Library - Royce Branch is a historic Carnegie library listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Right in the heart of downtown Grass Valley, this library serves a vibrant local business and arts community, residents, families, and visitors alike. The Grass Valley Library was named for the California philosopher, Josiah Royce, whose family settled on this site during the California Gold Rush. 

Features

The top floor of the library is dedicated to adult services, with computers and laptops as well as a self checkout option for when times get busy. The lower level of the library is dedicated to children and teens, with space to play, read and hangout.
